5 Ways With Flowers Blue Delphiniums Collage by Georgie St Clair

Intagram Challenge: #5wayswithflowers

Hello again.

Over the past few months, I’ve been an experi-petal  machine. Is that a word?  Nope. But I like it.

This has all happened on Instagram. I’ve discovered a fascination for florals and reignited a passion for paint. I finally feel as if I’m ‘honing’ my style. Alongside my fashion inspired portrait illustrations, I’m creating a body of floral imagery which will soon be adorning my Etsy shop – a goal that has been along time in the making.

To celebrate my new discoveries and my obsession for these little beauties, I’ve set myself a challenge. To take a flower and style it, 5 ways. This is my own unique little challenge. It helps me hone my skill, think outside of the proverbial box, stay fresh and possibly make some awesome art in the process.

So for my first 5 Ways with Flowers, I’m experimenting with a gorgeous blue delphinium – also known as ‘Blue Nile’. You can follow my progress on Instagram by looking up the hashtag #5wayswithflowers.

If you want to set me a challenge and have a particular flower or plant in mind – be it fresh, dried, paper, fabric, please do let me know. I thrive on creative challenges.

What a lovely idea, Georgie. I am loving watching your style evolve and all the wonderful ways you incorporate followers into your art. The one above of the paintbrush with the delphiniums is really special. I’d love to see #5wayswithflowers and some daffs! X

This has been such a fun challenge to observe! You translate your passion for the florals so beautifully & as much as I’m looking forward to seeing you play with fresh blooms this spring/summer, I’d love to see what you would do with a pile of delicately pressed pretties?! x
