There’s a little competition going over on the interior design community website ‘atmine’ (look me up if you’re on there) at the moment. All you have to do is style a surface in your home to represent what April means to you and post it to your social media with the hashtag #StylingSpringAtMine. A group of judges will choose their favourite and the winner will be chosen to a attend a fabulous crafting workshop in London at the end of April.
I might have a go but more importantly this challenge has made me think about what Spring and April mean to me. April still has a cool breeze, and there are often showers but it’s a hopeful, fresh month, full of renewed energy and hope for the summer months. There’s a feeling of ‘letting go’ of the shackles of winter. We are spending more time outside, getting more exercise so generally we are feeling better about ourselves (heck I even joined the gym this week). Blossom and spring flowers are blooming. I just love it.
I was originally going to post an Easter inspired post today, but I really wanted to explore my feelings around spring. This moodboard is the result. It’s focused mainly around a soft mint green to denote freshness, with touches of softened burnt oranges and blush pinks to give warmth. All still quite muted.
I hope you enjoy this palette and moodboard. For these images and others that inspire me, you can find me on Pinterest as well.
Have an inspired day
