I’ve opened my #fashionaflower hashtag up on Instagram. I adore connecting with other artists, makers and creatives who use floral or botanical imagery in their work. Every month I’ll share some favourites over on Instagram and announce my favourite floral inspired artist here on my website.
This first month my favourite floral inspired designer isJo Mitchell of ‘Reflect & Repeat‘ who creates luxury home textiles, in her studio in London.
The luxury interiors collection was developed in Jo’s Marylebone studio where daily trips to Regent’s Park inspired this dramatic tribute to the English country garden.
Jo shared this cushion on Instagram. I was immediately struck by the dynamic patterns and colour Jo brings to her cushions, tea towels and aprons.
Reflect and Repeat is also a great example of the power of Instagram for makers and artists.
Jo undertook a 100 day challenge on Instagram and quickly received countless requests for physical products. She realised the time was right to fulfill a lifetime dream of starting her own product range. I find stories like this so inspiring. Do check out the Reflect and Repeat website for some gorgeous floral products.
And thanks for posting to the #fashionaflower tag Jo!
If you are an artist, maker or creative who uses floral or botanical imagery in your work please do share your imagery with me on Instagram.
If you’re not a maker and just fancy having a go at fashioning a flower, you can also download a template from my website and create a floral dress of your own. Don’t forget to tag me @georgiestclair #fashionaflower on Instagram. I’d love to see it!
Have an inspired day
