It’s Friday and I’m totally in love with the digital paintings by Australian digital artist and graphic designer, Kimmy Hogan. Kimmy describes her art on her website:
My love of traditional oil paintings has led me to reinvent that look in a digital way. whilst my art is all digitally created it is still very ‘hand drawn’ with each line and shape being created with the stroke of my hand.
Kimmy’s flatlay paintings caught my attention a few months ago. I’ve wanted to draw a flatlay for a while but Kimmy’s paintings make me think I should be leaving it to the expert! I love the flat colours, unusual angles and the way she has simplified the complicated forms of flowers.
Her paintings would brighten any interior and they are firmly on my wish list.
I predict a line of homeware and soft furnishings from Kimmy. I think her paintings would look gorgeous on a cushion, as a wallpaper design or lampshade. I’ll be the first in the queue if Kimmy does release a range.
Kimmy also has the most gorgeous Instagram feed so do go and check it out. She also sells prints via her website – most of which I’m lusting over and want on my walls.
