Flowers. I love love love flowers! Having moved into a new house in December my garden is in need of some love and attention. There’s no colour or flowers there at the moment – it’s so uninspiring. (Trust me I’m working on that). Instead I’ve been adding even more flowers to my illustrations to feed my colour addiction.

So here’s something new for you: a flower and beauty illustration. Inspired by my many spring daily walks. Lighter in expression and in colour, meet Honey. She’s a kind-hearted girl, who will lighten your day (or your room) reminding you of simple beauty: sunlight streaming through the window, cool breeze on a warm day and the smell of honeysuckle.

In this post I’ve decided to share with you the layering process of a digital collage, in Photoshop, after I scan the sketch.

Voila! The finished illustration. I’ve used a hexagon geometric background to finish off the design.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how my digital collages come to life in Photoshop.

If you would like to see more of my illustration and artwork in the ‘real’ world, I’ll be in Horsham this Saturday 3rd May at the We Made This Market. Come over and say hi (especially with your gardening tips!).
