I’m writing this with intrepid excitement. I’m actually in the middle of packaging up my first order and wanted to capture my feelings as I do it.
First order for what I hear you ask? Well, my first order for Not On The High Street, that’s what!
A few weeks ago I was approached by NOTHS and asked if I would like to consider becoming a ‘partner’ (as the sellers on the marketplace are known). Well yes, I would like to consider it very much, thank you 🙂
So I set about photographing my artwork according to their infamously strict guidelines.
Thankfully the months of practicing photography and styling, taking courses (thank you Emily at Makelight), reading and practicing some more seems to have paid off. My photos were accepted and I’m now a fully fledged Not On The High Street Partner.
For now my collection is fairly limited. Some of my Instagram followers will recognise a few of the pieces. My drawings adorned with florals, my watercolour flowers, plus Sassy Du Fleur has made an appearance.
Long-term this online shop will concentrate on my floral art prints rather than my portrait illustration work. Importantly though, the opportunity has sparked a whole host of other ideas that I can’t wait to make a reality.
It’s all very exciting and slightly nerve racking. The usual self-doubt tends to sneak in when something good like this happens (is it just me or does anyone else get this?). For now I’m just enjoying this small personal victory. It’s an achievement I can actually tick off my bucket list.
So here’s my shop, Georgie St Clair on Not On The High Street – damn that feels so good to say! If you are looking for some contemporary floral art prints to brighten you home, office, studio or garden shed, then you know where to go 😉
Have an inspired day!
