Hi all, how are you this week. The party planning for my daughters second birthday really payed off. We had a fabulous Christmas and birthday party for her on Sunday 14th December (pics to follow) and she was thoroughly spoilt with presents and cake.
With the craft fair preparations out of the way, the birthday celebrations wrapped up and the Christmas presents bought, I’ve finally had the chance to have a little play in my studio.
I’ve turned to splashing watercolour paint around with some of the flowers I’ve had around the house. As they begin to turn and wither, I like to extend their life by creating something new out of them. These painterly watercolour flowers become works of art in their own right. Usually I share them only on Instagram, but I’m trying to make sure I share them here too. I hope you like them!
Advent Countdown to Christmas
As I’ve been splashing and spraying paint around the house, I’ve noticed the lovely marks on my painting board. I usually clean it, ready for using it as a backdrop in my photos, but I rather like the dynamic painterly loveliness of the paints sprays and splashes. So instead I’ve styled some photos using my ‘dirty’ painting board as a backdrop. You like?
I’m continuing to countdown to Christmas with my advent pictures everyday, which I share on Instagram and Facebook. It’s given me a good opportunity to experiement and be creative a-midst all of the chaos these past couple of weeks.
Tomorrow I’m dusting off my pencils and getting back to doing some drawing. I can’t bloomin wait.
I hope you’re having a great week and finding time to get creative. Christmas is the perfect time for a spot of creativity. Make the most of it. Even if it’s just decorating mince pies or painting a bauble or two. Get your ‘creative’ on.
