Hey, how are you? Having a good start to your week I hope.
This weekend expert stylist, Cristina Colli and I chose our Prop Styling challenge winners and announced them on Instagram. This months theme was ‘Ribbon’. In case you don’t know about the #PropStylers challenge, Cristina and I choose a very simple prop, that be found easily in and around the home. We then challenge you to create a vignette/still life around that prop. The more creative the better.
What a pretty prop styling challenge it was for us this month! May was full of beautiful florals and ribbon. Here are our runners up, clockwise from top left:
@britt_throndsen, @stilzitat, @capturebylucy, @koko_secretrainbowpath
Our absolute favourite and winner was this stunning image by @JustJane17
I love the story behind the image too. Jane says: “This in honour of the fact that daughter number 3 and I are off to see The Royal Ballet perform La Fille Mal Gardée in a live link from Covent Garden to the cinema. …
They say every picture tells a story and this one encapsulates many memories – they are my daughter’s ballet shoes; the little book is saved from my childhood when I also had ballet lessons for years; and my mother loved the ballet all her life and often took me, and later my daughters too, to productions”
A stunning image, I’m sure you agree.
Other Prop Styling Favourites
I thought I would take this opportunity to share a few of my other favourites. It’s always such a hard choice to select 5 favourites so this gives me the opportunity to give a big ‘high five’ to the other gorgeous prop styling entries.
If you fancy joining in this June the next theme is: ‘Scissors’. I know there’s going to be some wonderful entries! Remember, extra points go to the creative ones that make the ordinary, extraordinary!
Have an inspired day
